On the 16th of June this year was Fathers Day, a time to reflect and appreciate fathers. As Christians we have the greatest father of all time and that is God himself; who gave us Jesus Christ so that he could bring us closer to him.

God gave us Jesus Christ and through that he selected a man to act as his father and that man was Joesph. Joesph in my opinion is the greatest un-sung hero in the Bible.

Joesph was hardly mentioned in the Bible with the exceptions of when he found out that Mary was pregnant and was to put her away quietly as it was a shame for someone to be pregnant without being married in those days, and would have resulted in her being stoned.

But Joesph loved her so much that he spared her any humiliation. When it was later revealed that she was carrying the son of God, he put his life on hold and made sure to take care of not only Mary but this worlds Savior.

So please watch the video SUBSCRIBE TO OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL, and take time to appreciate this quiet man with loud actions.

Discipleship Of The Kingdom Of God

One of the things that seems to have torn down is the message of disciples Jesus said in Mathew 28:18-20 …

” And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Before he went to heaven Jesus left a message to us that we should make disciples of all nations. The Kingdom of God is not powerful until we make disciples. Who is a disciple ? A disciple is someone who learns after another and wants to make sure he becomes exactly like that one who he is learning from. So if we want to allow the Kingdom of God to come we must become discipline for the Lord. Disciples are more important than multitudes. However multitudes receive instantly but disciples receive their solutions afterwards.

Disciples is the mark from people who want to see the Kingdom of God come. You cannot be a disciple for the Lord if you are not ready to suffer for the Kingdom of God. Jesus deliberately sat on the mountain; and he fed multitudes but how many actually went up with him in the mountain? It was just his disciples, either 12 or maximum 72. Are you put of those who are the disciples ?

In Church we say Amen! to whenever they say things like Power, but power does not become effective until you learn how to operate it but constantly practicing Your probably reading this on a Computer which is being operated by power, but until its on it cannot be seen or heard.

There is a song which has the lyrics “He the sound of the master calling, and see who will go”, There is no need for us to keep on looking for miracles without being able to perform the miracles. The purpose of the power of miracles is to perform what the master did but if you do not know what he did how can you perform what he did? Lets look at a controversial scripture in Luke 14 :26

26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Now Jesus is not saying you should hate your mother, brother etc. What he is saying is that whatever you do Put me first. Do you put Jesus first ? Sometimes I look at my wife and then I look at prayer and struggle with which one should I spend time in. Sometimes I falter and say Lord, I couldn’t be the disciple you wanted me to be.

So I would like to encourage you to go to the scriptures to find the instructions of the Discipleship Of The Kingdom of God. May the Kingdom of God come upon your life but above all may you decide to do and become a Disciple of Jesus

The Effect Of Pentecost

Hello Readers, subscribers and followers ! we hope your very well. Its been a while since we last posted anything here and we do apologise for this as we know that we are truly appreciated by those have have subscribed. This due to timing issues but we will do our best to post more often. Remember you can always subscribe and watch our Youtube videos (below) as well as our podcast on upperroomchurchwellingpodcast.podbean.com

Last week Sunday(19th May) was a very important date in the Christian calender. It was the day of Pentecost, and it is not a word from an English background but from a Jewish background. It is my understanding that the word Pentecost comes from the Greek word Fifty (a pent) or something to do with 5. The Greek’s understood it as the way the children of Israel should move when they entered into his relationship.Whenever Israel entered into God’s relationship God gave some direction into how they can be blessed. In fact God looked for us was to bless us and to have a relationship with us. So today my topic is The Effect of Pentecost. The Effect of Pentecost was so significant in the life of the Church that the Bible says they turned the city upside down. So what does Pentecost signify ?

Jesus made a statement before he was taken out in Acts 8 when he said “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

So the purpose of this power is not to sit down but to become a witness. I want us to compare this to the Church in the wilderness (The Church of Jews). The Jews had a Church before the whole world received their Church. The Passover signifies Passover and deliverance and then it means when we receive this Passover and deliverance we are in a new creation. So Israel received this power when they were in Egypt and when they received this power God took them away God started broadcasting to the world. Joshua 5:1 says

“And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.”

The Kings heart melted when they heard what God had done ! When people hear what God has done with your life they must give glory to God. Acts 2:1-2

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.”

God comes in the power of the Holy Ghost and wind. The day of Pentecost was the day that made weak people strong , made nobodies become sombodies. The day of Pentecost so a glory that nobody could break. For histories, for centuries most Kings, Professors, demonic power have been trying break the Church down. In China they attempted to do this by burning Bibles. The Apostle Paul was close to doing just that but eventually he became the builder of the Church. That is what God wants you to do, when the day of Pentecost comes you will recieve the power of the Holy Ghost it is not for you to speak in tongues.

Pentecost is to bring the power of demonstration of God to the witness of others. We are all called to be disciples and potential miracle maker. God has not just asked you to come into Church but to has called you to Church to receive power and so that it will be through him That is why it says wait until the power has come upon you. May this waiting not be in vain but may you receive the power of God, and may you receive the power to work the works of God.

Thank you for reading. For any comments, please comment and share your experience about the Festival of Pentecost. And don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE to our YOUTUBE and BLOG .
