One of the things that seems to have torn down is the message of disciples Jesus said in Mathew 28:18-20 …
” And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Before he went to heaven Jesus left a message to us that we should make disciples of all nations. The Kingdom of God is not powerful until we make disciples. Who is a disciple ? A disciple is someone who learns after another and wants to make sure he becomes exactly like that one who he is learning from. So if we want to allow the Kingdom of God to come we must become discipline for the Lord. Disciples are more important than multitudes. However multitudes receive instantly but disciples receive their solutions afterwards.
Disciples is the mark from people who want to see the Kingdom of God come. You cannot be a disciple for the Lord if you are not ready to suffer for the Kingdom of God. Jesus deliberately sat on the mountain; and he fed multitudes but how many actually went up with him in the mountain? It was just his disciples, either 12 or maximum 72. Are you put of those who are the disciples ?
In Church we say Amen! to whenever they say things like Power, but power does not become effective until you learn how to operate it but constantly practicing Your probably reading this on a Computer which is being operated by power, but until its on it cannot be seen or heard.
There is a song which has the lyrics “He the sound of the master calling, and see who will go”, There is no need for us to keep on looking for miracles without being able to perform the miracles. The purpose of the power of miracles is to perform what the master did but if you do not know what he did how can you perform what he did? Lets look at a controversial scripture in Luke 14 :26
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Now Jesus is not saying you should hate your mother, brother etc. What he is saying is that whatever you do Put me first. Do you put Jesus first ? Sometimes I look at my wife and then I look at prayer and struggle with which one should I spend time in. Sometimes I falter and say Lord, I couldn’t be the disciple you wanted me to be.
So I would like to encourage you to go to the scriptures to find the instructions of the Discipleship Of The Kingdom of God. May the Kingdom of God come upon your life but above all may you decide to do and become a Disciple of Jesus
